Brainspotting

Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting is a powerful, somatic treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with bilateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing.

How Brainspotting Works:
-
Unprocessed traumas are held in “capsules” in the brain: A brainspot is seen as an eye position that correlates with a physiological “capsule” that holds traumatic experience in memory form.
-
Eye Positioning: During a Brainspotting session, you'll be guided to focus on a particular spot in your visual field. This activates neural pathways related to the emotional or traumatic memory.
-
Observe your experience without judgement: By remaining open and curious, you can create a safe space for healing allowing for emotional, visual, physiological, and spiritual processing.
-
Processing and Healing: As you focus on this spot, your body naturally processes and releases the emotional charge associated with the memory, leading to healing and resolution.
